The GF population is growing at an estimated 15% per annum and it won't be long now before we see articles about the gluten free lifestyle appearing everywhere.

Here is one which was flagged on the Melbourne Age's front page on the 22nd June and was the feature story in their Epicure section. Also appearing in this section of the Melbourne broadsheet was an article on GF beers.

They quote figures in the article that show millions of Australians are now following a GF diet, some for medical reasons and others just as a healthy lifelstyle choice.

We at Gluten Freedom are very excited that the mainstream media are starting to support our cause as the more networking and information made available to us means greater availablility and choice of products and services.

And thanks for the great headline, Mr Epicure editor!

Gluten Freedom Melbourne premiere – a milestone achieved

Last night at 20:30hrs Melbourne time, an historic FTA broadcast marked airing of the pilot episode of the first ever TV cooking and lifestyle show solely dedicated to gluten free food, Gluten Freedom.

As much of a relief as it was a victory, it was the culmination of two years of work and planning by producer Fabian Fitzgerald and his dedicated group of helpers who lent many hours of hard work and talent, largely without pay, to get it over the line.

Our fervent wish is that Gluten Freedom becomes not only a valued resourse for those people who need to unlock the mystery of a gluten free lifestyle, but also a huge source of inspiration to those same folks who find that they have to take an interest in preparing great tasting dishes, even if they've never been into cooking before – and if you're gluten free, that's a necessity, not a choice. But with the food manufacturers realising just how many of us there are out there, hopefully that will start to improve as more and more GF products to make our job easier in the kitchen become available.

We hope to see you tuning in to future episodes of Gluten Freedom as we will be preparing some great recipes with our Coeliac expert Dr Sue Shepherd, our queen of kitchen style Jo Richardson, and many more guest chefs. Plus we'll be meeting other GF personalities who will share their views and ideas on how to make the most out of a GF lifestyle.

Here on our website we'll have all our video archived so members will be able to browse and view all of our back episodes. We'll also have loads more info and product reviews to help you enjoy being gluten free more than you dreamed possible.

Thanks for your support and we look forward to a long and rewarding association with you, our friends and brothers in the gluten free family.
